Don's little thief looked up in Jack in a horrified way that only a child can pull off when Jack told him he had yet to play in the sand that day. It was as if that was an inconceivable notion to the child and he heaved a sigh and shook his head as though Jack didn't realise just what he was missing. "Was dere," he said, pointing to a mound of sand that was built up higher than the rest. "But sum'un knocked it down." And then he shot a dirty look at the other two kids who grinned unrepentantly back.
"Fair warning that he might try to pull you there now," Don pointed out. He could already tell that at least one of the three had taken to Jack. He wondered if he should be worried at how comfortable they seemed with a stranger.
He grinned and shook his head, amused by Jack's reaction to the comments. "I'm pretty sure you'll get used to it. I do have to say that we all pop up quite often and at random." Or at least he knew that he and Kirley did and often Orsino popped up if they did as well. Though that could be because Orsino was trying to stop Don from saying something too horribly embarrassing.
"Maisie claims I'm her favourite, which is completely great for me." Which most definitely endeared Maisie to Don a great deal which is probably why he waffled a great deal on what he was going to send her. "I sent her something today for that matter. "Is she? Does this mean you are a musician as well or just that she is as well in relation to us being musicians?"
