Don couldn't help but drop down on the bench himself, leaving his three little ones between him and the newly introduced Jack. He was positive that he was going to sleep like the dead tonight and was so telling Elizabeth that if their little terrors woke tonight she could deal with them. (Though secretly he was certain that he'd be the one dealing with them as she'd probably tell him that his day wasn't over until the sun came up again.)
"J'ck! Did you p'ay in da sand? We is built a sand castle!" The little thief had to insert himself into the conversation while the other two contended themselves with giggling and listening to the conversation.
"I'm quite certain that Jack hasn't played in the sand yet because he's trying to eat. And no, you may not have any more of his food," he added in as an after thought, figuring that sooner or later one of them would pipe up for some. He was certain that the other two were feeling the need to have a piece of it for themselves since the one already had some.
"The journals! Right. You'd be the bloke that got all the comments going, yeah?" That had been amusing. He'd liked reading them though he did have to bemoan the fact that he'd shown up late. It had looked like they'd had a good time and it was always fun poking fun with (or at) the other Sisters.
"Always good to hear. Your one friend, Maisie, seems to like us a lot too." The novelty of fans still had yet to really wear off on Don.
