The name sounded familiar, almost too familiar so when he took her hand she held onto it bit longer than was considered socially normal. Her bright eyes refused to leave his own darker gaze until after a good five second pause she was pulling her hand back and tilting her head owlishly. Her lips pressed together and Lyra pushed a soft hum of thought outward as he spoke. She almost missed his question completely but managed to catch the drift of it.
"Hmm... oh? Do I..? Yes, very much so! I never thought I'd do much anywhere else. Never had quite a love affair with any career if it didn't involve a good amount of reading. With this I get to read all day, it really did turn out to be a grand sort of offer as I must admit I felt strange being away from Hogwarts. It was almost a better home than the one I came from.." and there she was, rambling. Lyra had opened her mouth to speak more but snapped it shut and turned away looking terribly embarrassed but amused all at once.
"Sorry, I'm a talker, do tell me to shut my gob if I just keep rambling or something, so you, you have students? What is it you do, if you don't mind me asking? Is that what uhm... what that is for?" she nodded to the princess book under his arm.
