Tristan was often a little hard up for adult company himself. Most of his students had been away on family holidays for the past few weeks, which should have somewhat alleviated the problem, but he never had been very good about making sure to get out of the house. That was part of the reason why he rarely passed up an opportunity to socialize, when he was out on errands and one simply fell into his lap. Such opportunities weren't ordinarily provided by pretty young librarians, but ... he wished they were.
"Tristan Dunstan." He stepped closer to shake her hand, smiling down at the book she was holding - another possibility, he thought, should the princesses strike out. "That's wonderful. Do you like it? I mean - the students haven't shown up yet, of course. But I spent most of my time in the library anyway, at school. I'd love to go back and half live there. I've got a few students coming your way, actually, in a couple of days." One of them was a little troublesome, actually. He suddenly found that more distressing than he had before.
