It really was unnerving to be stared at, but Kirley wasn’t really in the mood to care even if the guy behind the counter did stare. At any rate, once he’d approached him the bloke seemed to be acting rather normally. It was at least comforting to know that he wasn’t going to start screaming like a thirteen year old girl and trying to kiss him. It had happened before, and Kirley didn’t take chances on things like that.
“She’s my pride and joy,” he said almost off-handedly in response to the comment, but there was a certain amount of satisfaction in his tone. His guitar may not have been incredibly detailed and fancy like Heath’s, but she was a beauty and she served him well. Kirley followed the friendly clerk as he guided him back towards the strings, his mind still conjuring the rest of a melody that he couldn’t play because his string was broken!
“Might as well get the set. I’ll need them all at some point, and probably soon. In fact, do you have any idea how many sets you might have in stock?” There was something to be said about buying in bulk, and Kirley planned to walk out with more than one set if they had them. Running out again soon was not on his to-do list. It always caused him such stress.
“Do you play?” he asked curiously, a bit calmed by the fact that they were now around the strings. It was easier for him to care about other things, things that he normally would have thought to ask already.
