Who: Kirley McCormack-Duke and Emma Dobbs When: Saturday late afternoon Where: Memorial Park What: Emma feels a bit down and gets some cheering up from a stranger. Rating: PG unless she starts to rant. Open/Closed: Open to Kirley
She blamed it on being a girl first and foremost, because boys didn't seem to have quite the same problem with leaking incessantly from the eyes. Girls, however, always dealt with such a problem and it seemed to Emma that the leaking happened over very dumb things. She kept scolding herself for the sobs that racked her body because logic told her it was very much ridiculous to be crying over anyone she hardly knew.
Especially a boy. Or, boys, as it were.
However, when she thought about it (because Emma couldn't stop thinking about it, damn it!)really, it was more than just a boy being rude and another being... sickish. It was really that people weren't taking well to her trying to be friendly, in her own way, and Emma couldn't understand how she was going about things wrong.
The sobbing had subsided but she was still looking worse for the wear as she sat on one of the benches situated in Memorial Park. She was very tempted to go home and drink more of her damned firewhiskey but that seemed to be a bit of overkill for her situation. However, if she did go home she'd be far too tempted. So here, in the park, after a long day at work, Emma sat with red rimmed, glazed eyes and golden hair that had been free of redhead charms that kept being brushed behind her ear.
