Wayne was struggling to hear Eloise when she spoke. It was as if she was speaking to him underwater. He let out a small laugh at first as she spoke, then picked up his wand when she set down her load and quickly undid the soundproofing he'd inadvertently put on himself.
"Hopefully it won't go too late," he said, walking towards her. "The nice thing about magic is it speeds up the process, yeah?"
He looked around at the mounds of cardboard. He'd asked the delivery me to break everything down by room, and so one stack in the corridor drew his attention. "So... Shall we start in the bedroom?"
