He reached for the cake, looking from Hannah's face to the little girl and then back again, "Sure," he said as he took the bag and then returned the awkward hug. She felt good, and smelled better in the brief moment he'd managed to catch her scent. The little girl was right there, very close and he stepped back, "This must be Olivia," he said, as he moved away toward the center island in the kitchen to set down the bag.
"You found the place easy enough I hope? Sorry about the lack of a lift but the third floor gets me better light," he explained.
