Leaving the tiramisu, Maeve leaned back in her chair and sipped her wine as the other woman ranted. "No harm except for sounding like there's nothing more to you than a spoiled princess," she observed, before taking her first bite. She would have liked to say that Delaney's sudden epiphany meant anything more to her than additional knowledge, but she couldn't.
She took another drink of her wine, finishing the glass off faster than intended. "You're the first person that's liked me like that," she said conversationally, not realising til after how much more it gave away about herself than she'd meant to. She hesitated slightly when it dawned on her but she quickly poured another glass and kept her calm exterior up. "I don't bow down to anyone," she recovered, "It's not just you."
