Summary: Sam misses her best mate...and has a VITALLY IMPORTANT question for her as well.
Rating: TBD/Mild, some drinking/cursing

Dropping into an empty stool in front of the bar, Sam waved over Tom and ordered a cider before she even glanced around to see if Demelza had shown up yet. She was a few minutes early so she wasn’t too surprised to see she’d made it first. A pint was set down in front of her and she thanked the bartender with a nod.

After Ginny, Demelza was her best friend, so the choice for her Maid of Honour or Best Man or whatever seemed obvious. It was the rest of the list she wasn’t sure of. Her friends were Ginny’s friends, for the most part, and she’d already put together who she wanted to stand beside her. She knew her sister was a required, that much was obvious. On top of it Mal would probably kill her if she tried to keep her out of it all. She wasn’t sure if Seamus wanted to join a bunch of girls but she supposed he could be cajoled if she promised he didn’t have to wear a dress, even though she thought he had just the legs to pull it off. So that was three, Sam was just considering the fourth when she felt someone slide in beside her and looked up with a smile.

"Oh, sorry," she joked, grinning at her mate as she pretended not to recongise her, "Seat's taken. Waiting for someone, you understand."

"So you aren't willing to change your plans for a mildly well-known Quidditch player like myself?" Demelza replied with a smile as she slid onto the stool.

She flagged down the bartender, and ordered a pint for herself. "So, how's life as an engaged woman?" she asked Sam brightly. She didn't want to just say Congratulations, because anyone could do that. She would just wish it profusely, and assume that Sam picked up the hint. It wasn't exactly subtle. "Exciting?"

"I suppose I could," Sam said, drawing out the words and making a big show of considering her options.

She grinned widely at the question and turned slightly toward the other woman. "Pretty damn good," she said, still surprised just excited over it all was. She'd never really considered it before and the task of planning a whole wedding seemed like a lot of work but then she considered being Ginny's Wife and felt that bubbly excited feeling. "I am," she said, holding her hand out for Demelza to see the ring if she wanted. Sam glanced at her hand and started to chuckle, laughing at both herself and how excited she was. "Didn't know I would be, but I really am."
