Maeve's simple statement was encouraging. It put Delaney somewhat at her ease, to know she wasn't totally trampling on the younger girl's wishes.
When Maeve stopped, so did Delaney, facing her with an expression she hoped wasn't too pathetic or desperate. "No," she agreed, "I don't know you. But I'd like to."
She leaned in, aware that if Maeve pulled away too suddenly she was going to end up looking very foolish, and slowly brushed her lips over Maeve's, in a light whisper of a kiss.
