Smirking, Delaney stopped her from getting too far, taking the case from her gently and setting it aside.
"Oh, come now," she protested mildly. "Is that any way to greet a customer? I mean, I know from the journals that you dislike inanity, but you haven't asked me how I am, so I haven't had a chance to be inane yet, have I?"
She took a step back, out of Maeve's personal space, and made a great show of surveying her surroundings. "A little bird told me that I could have anything I wished from this store, owled to me... I assume at my convenience... So I thought I'd take a look and see if you have anything that I might be interested in."
