His presence near to her felt somewhat comforting. Not completely, but a little at least, and he was trying, which was important. And what he was saying was true - Malfoy was pretty high and mighty. He undoubtedly had no idea who she was, and he might not even have noticed what house she was in.
"You're right," she said finally, after a long period of silence. "I'm going to go up to my room, Alfie, but thanks for calming me down." She struggled her way out of the chair, gathered up her books and turned to leave, but glancing back over her shoulder, she offered a parting piece of advice.
"Alfie? Go and see Professor Flitwick. He can at least help you out with some sort of charm to mask the smell until it wears off by itself." She smiled sympathetically at him, then left.
