The sound of the door opening pulled her attention from the spiders creeping around her to a dark hooded figure stepping into her store. Lips curled into a mischievous grin, as she remained silent, keen eyes watching the man move closer to the counter. Reclining a bit in her chair, one of the smaller spiders descended from it's web and dangled before, it's gaze inquisitive towards the man who was approaching. Snickering cruelly, Alecto held out her hand to allow the spider to land in the palm of her hand. As the spider crawled to the tips of her fingers, it clicked loudly and all the noises in the store immediately ceased. The store fell eerily quiet, too quiet, uncomfortably silent. It was the sort of silence that usually came before a storm, or in the case that came before a kill.
Purring softly towards the spider, those eyes never left the hooded figure. "They don't like strangers, especially hooded strangers." Her voice, Merlin how that voice was something that gave students nightmares during her time at Hogwarts. It was like nails running down a chalkboard, a tone that sent thrill down the spines of others. It was a voice that was likely familiar to Rabastan, a voice that was purred into his ear late at night. Lifting a finger, she ran it down the back of the spider, as it remained poised in the palm of her hand with it's front legs in the air. A finely sculpted brow arched, as the spider lowered it's front legs. It's pinchers clicked together and echoed through the store.
Sighing, Alecto didn't have time to deal with hooded strangers, a fugitive was about to come into her store, the last thing she wanted was someone else to be there. Flicking the spider away, it soared into the air before shooting webbing out and ascending higher into the shadows and away from the flickering candlelight. Sliding off her chair, she pulled her wand out from one of the folds in her skirt and rounded the counter. "You know, any other day I would welcome customers into my store, but I don't have bloody time for this right now." Her voice was a harsh hiss, as she aimed her wand at the man, "Besides, I learned early on never to trust a hooded figure." A flicker of amusement flashed through her gaze, as the sound of scratching on the walls made it evident that the spiders were creeping closer.
Alecto did promise them a meal, didn't she? What better way to supply that meal than to just have it innocently walk into her shop?
