While Kirley had always considered himself very close to his sister, he hadn’t seen her in a shamefully long time. Alright, perhaps it really hadn’t been that long ago, but it was long enough to miss her, and for her to have been kept in the dark about a thing or two. The most important of which being that Kirley had been on a date, and that he had actually genuinely liked the girl, AND they were still talking as if they might see one another again. He would have told her via owl or journal, but that felt far too impersonal, to tell his sister something so important that way. He wanted her to hear it from him.
He had worried at first that she might not be able to make it, being sick and playing in the prelims at the Quidditch World Cup, but she had promised him that she would be there. Of course, he’d listened in on the entire match through the wireless, even though he had rather wanted to go in person, but he spent quite a bit of his day getting ready for their dinner...that and the fear of being mobbed by fans. He did make a rather fantastic dinner, however, and as promised, he had her favorite ice cream waiting for her in the freezer, their little secret.
He had music playing, as always, and was lounging his living room, waiting for Meghan to show. Both Barnaby and Bendemolina were resting on the couch with him, both dogs calm for once. He hoped that it would prove to be a fun night. But then, it was rare that he ever didn’t enjoy time spent with his little sister.
