Quidditch World Cup Begins
Erastus Saint

It has been clear in wizarding areas all around Britian this week that today would mark the beginning of the Quidditch World Cup, as international players from around the world arrived to take their temporary residences in towns such as Holyhead and Portree, living close to the Quidditch pitches that have been marked as their practice pictches for the coming weeks.

Then, finally, today it's time. The games begin! The first preliminary games are being held this week. Today's games are the showings between Argentina versus our very own English National Team, Turkey versus India, Italy versus Spain, and the United States in what is predicted to be a simple victory for our Scottish National Team.

Quidditch fans began assembling in stadiums early this morning, as have reporters from magical news outlets from across the globe. With tourism at a decade high in wizarding Britain, this flood of international traffic is set to be a widespread economic boon, as well. Of course, money is the last things on the minds of true Quidditch fans, who, if not at the games themselves, will surely be listening to the all day Quidditch World Cup coverage provided by the Wizarding Wireless Network.

It promises to be an outstanding World Cup!
