Who: Su Li and Anthony Goldstein
What: Some talking and complaining, and Su's hidden bottle of scotch whisky.
Where: Su and Anthony's apartment, in Su's room.
When: Evening, after this and this.
Rating/Status: PG-13 for possible language and slander?  Closed.

It wasn't often that Su indulged in things like naps.  She often felt much too busy, and even when she knew she wasn't, she had a talent for finding some way of effectively busying herself.  The idea of sleeping in the middle of the day felt somehow blasphemous to Su.  Today, however, somehow seemed a different case.  When it came right down to it, this weekend had been exhausting.  Between the auction at Underground, and a visit with her family all day on Saturday, Su had had a difficult time getting out of bed that morning.  Still, she had managed to make it through a busy day of grocery shopping and errands.  By the time she made it home, though, her eyelids were feeling heavy and she didn't think she would have the energy to bother with a failed attempt to cook herself some dinner.

Instead, she'd given into temptation after all - after changing into something much more conducive to an early-evening nap, Su had hopped into bed and was just about to doze off when she heard a familiar sound.  Pansy the Pug had found her way into the bedroom and was sitting resolutely near the foot of the bed, whining and barking to be lifted up.  Su grumbled and tried throwing a pillow at the dog, but it missed and Pansy only carried on.  Eventually Su had grabbed the dog and tossed her onto the bed, where she had fallen quickly asleep, snoring and twitching with some sort of canine dream.

For her part, Su was now thoroughly awake again, the plan to nap having utterly failed.  The journal, at least, had provided some sort of distraction.  But Anthony seemed to be having a difficult time dealing with the latest drama generated from the Parkinson-Corner dilemma, and to be quite frank it was something Su never grew tired of complaining about.  After writing Anthony an invite to join her - completely ignoring, as they always did, the fact that it would have been much easier just to open the door and have a normal conversation - she tossed the journal aside and rolled over to open a drawer on the bedside table.  As she was extracting a mostly-full bottle of scotch, Su her the door creak open more and smirked at her flatmate.

"Look what I've found," she said, waving the bottle triumphantly.  "We won't have to wait til Tuesday to get pissed and complain bout bad friends after all."

As Anthony arrived home from a day at work and a handful of hours within the Leaky, it was more or less amusing for him. He wasn't how to take the night in, especially with a pint of Firewhiskey already in his system. Not one to drink all too often, he accomlished that sporadically throughout the months. Mostly it was when things in his life became too much, like his best friend being wittled away from him from a beast of a woman. Honestly, how could one deal with the likes of Pansy and her cronies? Her lessor friends were really nothing, but sometimes it became tiredsome arguing with the bat. It didn't help that Michael just let whatever his wife say towards his best friend without any sort of conversation. Of course, things of the sort were as such for quite sometime, not to forget Anthony's thoughts lingered just as much. Michael changed and it wasn't for the better, of course, that was merely his opinion.

It only took a few notes back and forth between his flatmate and himself, before Anthony ventured into Su's room once invited. Sometimes it was funny that they lived in the same area, but took a liking to writing each other through their journals, even in the same room. Usually ignoring that fact, Anthony tossed the journal to the side. Vaguely hearing the book hit the table and slide to the ground, there was no expression upon him that seemed to mind at the moment.

Just as he turned the door knob into Su's room, he had just enough time to undo his tie just a little for it to hang loosely before hearing her voice call out towards him. A small grin was shown brightly on his facial features. That was what he needed. More alcohol. "You've been holding out on me, haven't you?" he asked in a teasing sort of tone. He did wonder at times why he let things get to him sometimes. Of course, he could take a punch and dish one out right back to his best friend's wife without a problem, but then he felt kind of dirty since he associated that behavior with foreplay for the Corners. A slight shutter went down his spine as he plopped himself down on his side upon the mattress, frightening Pan in the process.

"I bet you got a whole stash of liquor under your bed!" he exclaimed jokingly.

Su smirked skeptically but didn't deny anything. "Look at me. Do you realize, at my size, how much at takes to get me even a little bit tipsy? Having a stash of liquor under my bed would be possibly one of the worst ideas ever."

As if to prove her point, she leaned forward, suspending herself over the side of the bed, and lifted the bedskirt. The space under the bed was quite empty, with the exception of a large, plush dog toy that Pansy had apparently stowed away, and a pair of winter boots. Su frowned and pulled the dog toy out - a garish green unicorn. She squeezed it a few times, each one emitting a high pitched squeak that made the pug's head shoot up with interest. As Su tossed it aside, Pansy leaped from the bed in a most uncharacteristic show of zeal.

Patting a spot on the bed, Su sat back again and set to work opening the bottle. "Sadly, I don't have a stash of proper glasses for this stuff, either. But I don't really think we need them. This sort of seems like an occasion where one passes the bottle back and forth." Her head tilted.

Anthony had always noticed Su's petite body. Heck, they dated for a short amount of time, so if he didn't know that little fact, she might as well slap him across the cheek. Not that she would do that though. "I'm sure the moment that you stick your tongue in the bottle, you're instantly buzzed off your rocker," he replied to her statement teasingly. He knew that he could always count on her to make him feel better. It never seemed to fail. Whatever idea that might pop into Su's mind always made his spirits lift rather easily. He wouldn't know what to do without her.

As he layed on the bed upon his side, he propped up his arm and leaned his head upon the hand. Anthony watched his flatmate's movements searching under the bed for an unseen object. Eyes seemingly perked up as an ugly toy unicorn emerged within her grasp. It really was a display of movement that should have been captured by a muggle camera, which made Anthony's jaw drop slightly watching the pug zip straight after the moving object. "Did that just," he started to talk with a slight pause, pointing his finger that their pet. "Why can't she do that during a walk?" A soft laugh escaped from his lips, before obediantly moving his body inch by inch up the bed as Su motioned him to do so.

"Oh, that's okay. Besides, I think the cooties infestation left about two years ago," he remarked, gazing over at Su. It didn't take him too much longer to reach his hand out slightly, wiggling his fingers, towards the alcoholic bottle. "I didn't interrupt alone time with the dog. She'll get jealous once she notices that we're spending more time with each other than her."

Su glanced over at Pansy, who was vigorously shaking the unicorn back and forth, intermittent snarls mingling with the squeaking toy. Lazily, Su snatched her wand off of the bedside table and pointed it at the toy. "Silencio!" The squeaking ceased, and though the growls continued, they weren't nearly as annoying.

"I think she's happy with...that." She waved her hand dismissively but the expression on her face showed plainly that Su was very fond of the dog. "Anyway, good thing about the cooties. Close quarters like these, we could cause an outbreak in no time."

She took a swig of the scotch before handing the bottle off to Anthony. There was no doubt in Su's mind that she liked the drink, but every time she took that first step she couldn't help making a face. It always managed to take her by surprise. "Whoops, you were right, I'm demolished."

With an exaggerrated motion, Su flopped back onto her pillow and kicked her feet in the air. Smirking, she turned her head to look up at Anthony. "So. Should we start the lambasting now, or wait until our tongues are a bit looser from drinking?"

Shifting his head side to side as the small pug shook the toy violently, it almost felt hypnotic as he watched the movements. Anthony didn't glance away until Su had silenced the unicorn, thankfully, before he turned his attention back to her. The growls and playful motions of Pansy felt almost off in the distance with his mind filled with negative thoughts. However, the start of his time with Su had begun to make him feel better rather easily. He wasn't sure how she accomplished that, but she honestly did. "For about ten minutes she'll be happy with that. I don't know what she's going to try to do after that though. She can be unpredictable, you know," he replied with a nod of his head.

Cooties. If he knew that their conversation was going to involve cooties, Anthony might have made an appearence at their flat quite abit sooner. Their small talks were almost always random. He couldn't even begin to guess what their daily subjects might be for the following day. "Outbreaks are quite nasty. Pimply and a bit ooze squirting out by the five stage. If you live that long," he said moments later with a serious expression upon his face, nodding his head a bit slowly.

Anthony took ahold of the bottle as it was being passed to him, and paused right before it touched his lips. Eyes scanned Su for a moment, catching the weird look. It was something that he couldn't help but laugh slightly. "Ah, now you see, that was my plan all along. Get you wasted quickly, so I may take advantage of you," he said, downing a bit of the scotch into his system. Of course, there was no doubt that he was simply joking. He was too worried about how to act in front of a woman, so that thought was the farthest thing in his mind to accomplish. Not that he ever would. Su knew him well enough to know that as well.

Trying hold back the same look as it came across his face, while utterly failing, he didn't want to show that he barely drank a whole lot. It wasn't like him to, nor did he want it to seem like it was something that he would do. Anthony let out a breath of air, glancing over at Su with a smile. "If anything pops into your mind, I say go for it. Let's see how bad we can eventually get from little alcohol to quite a bit in our system," a slight pause ventured forth before he hand a thoughtful look upon his face. "You think we could get one of those acme anvils?"
