Characters: Sam Capper and Heathcote Barbary
Setting: Saturday afternoon, 26 June in Memorial Park
Summary: Sam gets a little antsy and restless, stuck inside WORKING on a nice summer day. So she escapes.
Rating/Warning: Gish

Even though it wasn't what she'd pick as her favourite season, preferring the cooler autumn and snowy winter, but there was something about a nice summer day that even Sam had to admit was wonderful. The day was sunny and warm but was free of the pesky humidity or mugginess that usually made her start longing for November. It made her fidgety and dragged her attention span down to nothing, making her wonder what had possessed her to agree to help her brother out on a Saturday.

The morning rush had ended, settling into a slower, albeit steady, weekend afternoon business. Sam stared at the door longingly for a moment before glancing around the shop. Quincy had needed her earlier but now the pace had dropped and he had their cousin there for the rest of the day. The way she saw it there was no real pressing need for her to hang about another couple hours. Waiting til Callum, her cousin, came back into the front, Sam made her break for it, grabbing her things from the backroom and darting out the front door before any guilt over the exasperated "Sam!" they called after her could settle in.

After stopping in to one of Diagon's new cafe's for an iced coffee, she made her way through the crowd for Memorial Park. She always liked the shift between the normal weekday crowd and the more relaxed, diverse crowd that flooded in for the weekend. The park, filled with picnicking families, kids on their toy broomsticks, teenagers tossing quaffles around, and shoppers needing a short break from the shops, was a prime example. She took the fist empty bench she came upon and set her case on the ground, leaving it open as she got comfortable and started playing for whomever wished to listen. "Isn't it a pity. Now, isn't it a shame, how we break each other's hearts, and cause each other pain. How we take each other's love, without thinking anymore. Forgetting to give back. Isn't it a pity."
