No matter how dicreate Harold would have been with his actions, he should have had an inkling of what Kegg would have done. He made his way through the crowd with all intentions of making slow movements towards the girl. It should have dawned on him that her instincts as a hit-wizard would have been on an all time high because of how many others were within the vicinity, not to forget that she possibly could have just came from work. That should have tipped him off to a point that she would have a vague feeling the entire event that was about to unfold would occur. Of course, what fun could that possibly be if that thought ran through his mind?
Harold knew that today was a day about Harry Potter and the unvieling of the statue, but he couldn't bring himself to pay attention to that. Nothing within him actually thought anything negative. The boy who lived gave his life to save everyone within the wizarding word and beyond. Of course, he appreciated such bravery. There was no doubt in his mind that they would most likely be aurors together if the end of Harry's life didn't come on that very day five years ago. However, the commemorative statue looked nothing like the boy did during that time. Maybe if one squinted their eyes and cocked their own heads to the side, the resemblance would be very slight. Even though he barely knew Harry, Harold wasn't sure if all of the commotion was nessesary. Sure, he deserved a day dedicated to him for all the accomplishments that had occurred, but maybe the event was a bit too much.
As he rounded a couple of more wizards during the spectical, Harold shifted his gaze over towards Veronica. Her bushy hair ran down her back was the very first thing that usually caught his eye, no matter what sort of statement exited his lips at any given time. Allowing his head to turn into her direction, he noticed the smirk that seemingly spread across her expression in a sort of devious sort of way. It didn't help that he tilted his head slightly towards the woman, keeping his gaze upon her and letting a small smile spread acorss his own. Moments later, he noticed the kiss that was blown in his direction, pursing his lips together. They had always bickered throughout the years and he greatly enjoyed it, while teasing each other in random ways, however, that was something he didn't expect.
At first, he couldn't help but let out a laugh at Kegg's actions, racing away from him at that very moment. She was toying with him, obviously wounded that she had ultimately lost the bet. There wasn't a way that he would allow her to get away, thus claiming victory on that very day, so he ran after her. It was immature, yes. That was something that he noticed immediantly as his pace quicked to press forward through the crowd. It took him much longer then he had expected to free himself from the mass amount of people, so there was a good head start by the girl. Apparating was too easy to accomplish at that moment. Of course, it was very simple to do, but he was sure that he wouldn't have any satisfaction afterwards.
Once he had freed himself from the mass population in the crowd, Harold knew that giving chase was the only option. Besides, he was a quick runner and much in shape in a long work out, especially since his occupation needed him to be so. No one saw an incredialy overweight auror racing around anymore. The wheezing would actually cause whomever that particular auror was attempting to catch up with the advantage. Without another moment's hesisation, Harold was off, sprinting to catch up and gain the extra ground that he needed to catch up. There was no way that Kegg was going to slip through his fingers today. All he hoped was that she wouldn't think about cheating.
