"Oh, I know you'll say yes," Of that, he sounded completely sure. There were other things he was not as sure of - like if he'd make it through the damn things he'd thought he wanted to say without giving over to his pride and stopping. Suddenly, he wished he'd just let her say yes so he could get back into his seat.
