Ernie, Audrey, and Hufflepuffs
Glad that Ernie had taken control, Audrey fell behind the group, urging the slower children to hurry up. She couldn't do much in her Animagus form at this point and so stayed human, helping to keep as much order as she could within the group. Although the journey seemed to Aud as though it was taking forever, it wasn't long before they were there. The students were led down the tunnel and Audrey had to square herself and force several fourth years through the tunnel as they tried to sneak around her and escape.
As she stood guard, ushering the students through, she caught a sneaky movement at the corner of her sight and turned, heart in her throat, wand at the ready, but it was only Sam's younger brother, Quincy. He froze at the sight of her wand and Audrey took a step towards him.
"You've got to go through," she told him, her voice both firm and gentle. She didn't want to tell him he couldn't help, that he'd likely only end up dead, because she didn't want to think about that possibility.
He opened his mouth to protest, but Aud shook her head, putting her hands on his shoulders. "The best thing you can do is go through and help the younger years. Sam will be alright, I promise." Before she turned him around towards the tunnel, she instinctively drew him close and gave him a quick hug, hoping she was telling the truth.
