Verity and Yaxley
ven though his wand had been ready, Yaxley was distracted when Verity cast the banishing charm. As he became aware of what was happening, his wand arm shot up and he began to speak the Killing Curse, but it wasn't done quickly enough. Verity's spell caught him squarely in the gut, and he let out a strangled cry. What would ordinarily have pushed a man of Yaxley's size off of his feet, perhaps knocking him down, did much more in light of the unusual strength with which it was cast.
The only thought that went through Yaxley's head as his body went soaring through the air, doubled-over and limp as a rag doll, was that this must be what it felt like to be punched in the gut by a giant. Just a moment later his body collided with the crumbling wall behind him. He felt it crush against his back and shoulders, and then that was it. Yaxley's head snapped forward and then back with the impact. If it hadn't already broken his neck, the force of his head slamming into the wall, cracking his skull, surely would have killed him. His body buckled and slid to the floor, slumping to its side with a dull thud.
