It hurt her heart that she had to question him as she did, but given everything that had happened and how much he'd hidden from her she really did not have a choice. They were in a terrible mess; all she wanted to do was burst into tears over it and cry about how unfair all of this was to them. Instead she was forced to keep all of her grief and anger inside. She had to stay focused and not get hysterical, else she'd only make everything worse. She wanted to be held and comforted, but she dare not ask for it. There was not much that could be said to reassure her anyway. Their outlook was grim. Either they would be forced to further immerse themselves in a cause she no longer even believed in, or they would have to defy it all together and risk dying and losing their son.
All she could do was nod in understanding and look away from him. "All I am certain of, is that if Draco's life is at stake then I do not care about anything else. You can calculate all you wish, Lucius, but for me the answer will always be Draco."
