Where: Abandoned dungeon clasroom
When: Th 2nd
Rating/Warning: Plotty, BA

Draco paced in the room, tense from being so carefully, tightly closed for the last weeks since he'd discovered them. Wands. All the sodding wands, and why hadn't the Death Eaters just broken then? It would have been smarter - and as soon as Draco thought that, he knew he had his answer. Smart wasn't the first adjective one would use to describe most of the goings on at Hogwarts recently.

But he'd found them, and he'd told Snape he would get them where they needed to go. Which was back to the mudbloods, and there was very little chance that he'd actually do that himself. No chance, actually, which was why he'd needed a scapegoat. Someone easily malleable and likely just as easily imperioed or obliviated. Besides, it would give him a chance to hone his legilimency a bit. The problem was, choosing someone so simple. When Draco had tried to think, every Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw in the damned school had come to mind. It was hard to decide on one.

But he also knew it had to be someone who could get the damn things to Weasley, and who had some semblance of power and responsibility, at least with the students who weren't too terrified of thir new professors to stop paying attention to such things. So, in the end, the choice had been made for him, and now he waited for Macmillan impatiently, wondering how exactly he could go about this without giving up too much information.

Ernie considered once again why exactly he had ever wanted to be Head Boy as he went to meet Malfoy. He didn't like Malfoy, who thought he was better than everyone, who was followed by people Ernie could only describe as thugs and bullies, who had helped end the DA in fifth year. But he was Head Boy, and so he had to talk to the prefects when they had a - he wasn't sure what it was. A problem? A concern? A question? Malfoy hadn't said. The thought unnerved him.

More warily than usual, Ernie entered the room. "Malfoy," he said flatly, with a nod. Civil, but not much more - but then they were on opposite sides, so it couldn't be unexpected.
