Frowning, Verity tried to defend herself, even though she knew Fred was right. "It's not my fault!" She protested. "I didn't even have time to deal with this before Hestia told you and then I had to deal with your reaction and your telling your family and just... everything and I could barely think. Can you blame me for wanting to try and figure things out first?"
At his question, she shook her head, taking a step back from him. "No. I have no idea what's going on," she drawled, sarcastically. "That doesn't make this any less important, though!" She shot back, gesturing between them. "When either of us could die at any moment, don't you think it's a wee bit important to actually show me how you feel?"
