this will be the thread of seamus' change. feel free to do more entrance threads.
Now that everyone had arrived and were settled in, Seamus reached into his bag and passed out the bottles of pain potions. "Go ahead and take those, give it time to settle in a bit."
Taking a deep breath, he looked around at the people in the room. Even though there were only eight in the group, he always felt a bit nervous being the center of something big. "So I'm sure you're all wondering what's so important. I'm also sure you've all basically figured it out by now, so I'll cut right to the chase."
Downing his own potion, he tossed the bottle to the side. "I came in here to practice, no intentions of anything more happening then the past few weeks have brought. A snout here, some ears there, and that blasted tail that makes my arse hurt. But something happened. I'll explain what as long as it all goes well, but I changed. Fully. I never thought that it would be possible before we left for Summer holidays. Or for some of us," he said, motioning towards his fellow 7th years, "for good."
Not wanting to really explain anything else at that moment, Seamus took a deep breath and closed his eyes, speaking the words in his mind that he spoke so many times over the past few months. But this time it felt smoother, more natural, than it had in the past. You can do it Seamus. he heard himself say in his head, just like he did the first time.
He could still feel the bones crunching and twisting as he formed down, and he wanted so badly to open his eyes to see the reactions of his peers as his body formed into the fox. He felt his front paws hit the ground, and that's when he did open his eyes and turned to the mirror he stood in front of, making sure he was fully formed.
Thank Merlin. I would've felt like an arse if I didn't do it again.
So that was apparently the trick. Having the confidence in yourself that despite all of the pain that the body is going through, this is going to be natural for him (and them) from now on. They had to put aside all of the bad going on and focus on themselves and OH A MOUSE
His fox eyes watched the mouse scurry across the floor and he chased after it. Getting it into a corner, he pounced and held it in his paws. Thankfully, Seamus made sure to eat before he came in case anything tempted him. Like the mouse. So he picked it up in his mouth and ran through the room, looking for a place to safely set it. He found a crack in the wall, most likely where the mouse came from, and set it down, pushing it with his paw back into the crack.
I think that's enough, he thought. He bounded past the others and into the room he set his clothes in. Closing his eyes again, Seamus felt his body twisting back into his human body, and silently thanked Merlin that the process of coming back wasn't as bad as turning into.
Once he found his feet, he poked his head around the curtain. "As you can see," he said, pointing to the spot he started in, "I haven't quite figured out how to come back with clothes on yet. It's possible, since Professor McGonagall has done it for us in lessons before. That's why I had you all bring extra clothes."
