Percy had arrived, his arms full of things for Bill, his older brother. He had some magazines, a book about Island Vacations, and a box of assorted sweets from Honeydukes. He knew that bringing things wouldn't fix anything, but he felt he needed to make a big show. Not known for being one who was generous, he moved in as soon as he heard the invitation, and made his way into the room.
"You won't bite me?" Percy said, trying to make light of the joke, "What if I want you to?" he asked, trying his best to smile and find the humor Bill had offered, "I brought you a few things," he said, stepping closer to Bill's bed and extending his bundle towards his brother, "I wasn't sure what you might need, or how long you'd be in here..," he said as his voice trailed off.
Percy felt the lump in his throat rising, "Bill....," and he swallowed hard and went on, "You..you look pretty good. How do you feel?"
