Sam didn't notice Nikolas until he was almost right on top of her, announcing his presence. She glanced up and nodded after only a slight hesitation. Normally any conversation she might have with a Slytherin was closer to an argument or altercation, but Nikolas she had already acknowledged wasn't quite like the rest of his house.
They hadn't spoken outside of lessons and the rare occurrence on the journal but Sam knew she owed a little more. They were in the same boat and without McGonagall guiding them all now they needed to help each other out. Even if one was a Slytherin.
