"Yes," Severus muttered, not bothering to count the years - he knew the number well enough. "Some of us will hardly know what to do with ourselves." Some days he thought he'd decided, but it still couldn't come soon enough. He was determined to have nothing to do with whatever complications might arise after the main event, one way or another. He'd have done his part.
"I don't know how many people have caught wind of it," he said, very nearly cringing. "But - no one who doesn't already know, and no one in the castle. I don't care how friendly, or how many siblings they've got on the right side of things. It's too much of a risk." He couldn't bring himself to smile, but he did manage a little dry optimism.
