Draco was pleased to return to lessons, if only because he wanted to see the state of things after being locked away from it - and that had irked him. For all anyone knew he was as loyal as any of the rest of them to the cause, why he was locked away with the rest of the children was annoying - and also because being locked up for a day had left him restless. Of course, there were mixed reactions to the removal of the muggleborn students. Draco couldn't care less. He wasn't Snape's turncoat out of any sense of connection to the mudbloods. He was interested, though, in the new professors.

Derrick? Seriously? But he said loudly enough to his classmates that it was a far better choice than McGonagall, the old bat, and then hung back as the class filed out to greet his former Housemate.

"Welcome back, Professor," he said with a smirk, perching at the edge of the front table where he'd been sitting.

Thomas was enjoying himself.

He had always had a penchant for Transfiguration, but aside from the enjoyment he got from now teaching the class - a class free from muggleborns, of course - he was enjoying the sense of panic and frustration that swept through much of the student body. The looks, the whispers - he didn't bother to hide his amused smirk at it all. Particularly when his new position also came with adoring looks from many of the girls. While Thomas would never act on anything, he certainly didn't hate the thought that there were schoolgirls crushing after him.

"Thank you, Mister Malfoy," he returned, privately amused that they would be so formal when he'd considered Draco a peer a few short years ago. Well, more or less a peer. He'd been a younger year then, of course, not quite on Thomas' level, but they'd both been students. It amused him to have that relationship changed now.

Their relationship hadn't changed, as far as Draco was concerned. As much as he disliked the idea of his brothers being in control of Hogwarts, and he did dislike the idea, one thing that could be said for it was that he expected stellar marks in all of his courses now. He bore the same Mark, after all.

"I trust you're settling back into the Castle well?" He asked politely, smirk firmly in place.

	"I am. It's good to be back, especially in the current climate," Thomas answered with a smile. He had never given though to teaching as a profession previously, but he was definitely enjoying himself. "And you? Are you enjoying the changes in your lessons?" (Reply to this) (Parent)
