Thankfully there was only one baby, and he wasn't so tiny that he could just slide out, as much as Tonks wished it could be that easy.
"We can't very well walk back to London," she said, trying to be as calm and soothing about it as she could. "There's nothing wrong with it speeding things up. I think at this point I'd appreciate it."
Relieved when he finally Apparated them back to the flat, she let him lead her, assuming they were going to the couch, but once she realised where he was trying to take her, she dug her heels in. "It just started a few hours ago," she insisted. "It took my mum forever to have me. Honestly, I'm okay. I'll sit down, but no bedroom yet. I'll put on sweats, how about that?"
She tried to take another step, but suddenly she felt a strange gush where a gush shouldn't happen, at least not since she was trained out of nappies, and she stopped, going a bit pale. She'd had to use the loo an inordinate amount since this whole thing had started, but her bladder was still uncomfortably full. Brilliant. "All right," she said, a bit shaken, but still trying to keep her voice steady. "That was my water breaking. That still doesn't mean anything's happening now. Could be hours. Days. I don't know. So--I'm going to change, and you can...work on the crib. How about that? Since we'll be needing it soon."
