WHO: Gretchen Watkins & Trev Scabior
WHAT: stuff!
WHERE: Trev's house
WHEN: friday night
WARNING/RATING/STATUS: None/R?/Ongoing

Gretchen was drunk. Not quite drunk enough to pass out, but probably too drunk to Apparate and yet that was just what she did. Closing her eyes and spinning in place, she managed somehow to pop into existence without incident in Trev's living room. "Trev!" she hollered, flopping onto the couch and closing her eyes until the room stopped spinning.

She'd had a good day. One of her contacts had pointed her in the direction of a now unoccupied, yet filled with beautiful shiny things and she'd darted through, pocketing things that caught her attention and making plans to sell the rest. Not only that, but she'd found out that the last of the goblins had been let go from the Gringott's camp in Giza, and humans were so much easier to fool. They couldn't smell treasure or whatever creepy ability goblins had.

A celebratory drink had seemed like an excellent idea at the time, but she'd neglected to take into account the fact that she'd skipped eating to explore the Muggleborn's house and the drinks had hit her harder than expected.

She pushed off the couch and crossed the living room, pushing open the window and leaning out, the chilly night air reinvigorating her.

Stomping down the stairs, Trev ran a hand over his hair, smoothing it down as he entered the living room. "Fuckin' 'ell, Gretch," he griped, watching her sway in the window for a moment. "Shite...Watkins, you didn't Apparate here drunk did you?" He walked over and leaned back against the wall next to the window, looking down at her. "You want to lose 'alf your limbs, do you?"

Peering up at Trev owlishly, Gretch shrugged. "I'm not that drunk," she protested, pushing away from the window and holding her arms out to her sides. "Got all my limbs, don't I?" She hooked her foot around the leg of a nearby armchair and tugged it close to the window before dropping back into it. "Plus walking would've taken way too long. I didn't interrupt you in anything, did I?"

"Walking from London? Yeah, I'd think so." He folded his arms over his chest and watched her fetch the chair and fall into it. "Nothing. Just doing a little work. Got some amulets in I was charming." There were no plans for them yet, sell them in Diagon or pawn them off on some Muggle wanna-be psychic shop, either would be worth a laugh. "Want to get a drink? I was going to go down to the pub anyway."

Holding her hand up towards him, Gretch shook her head. "I think that before we do that, and note I say before, because I am all for drinks, but before," she leaned back in the chair, snuggling down and kicking her feet up on the window sill. "You should make me something to eat." She paused, and considered the situation, tapping her chin in thought. "Or snog me."

Rolling his eyes, Trevor stooped to kiss Gretchen and hesitated a moment, debating whether he should send her in the kitchen to scrounge something for herself or give into demands. He kissed her, deeply, waiting until he felt her hands wrapping around his neck before pulling away. "For Salazar's sake can we get a drink now?" He waved his wand and summoned his jacket from it's spot on the couch.

"Mmf!" Gretch let out a little disappointed squeak as Trev pulled back and frowned, pushing her lower lip into a pout. "That wasn't very nice," she grumbled, swinging her legs down and holding up her hands, without thinking, for assistance. Trev just looked down at her and she sighed, heaving herself out of the chair and wobbling momentarily.

"Bloody 'ell, Gretch," Trevor sighed, rolling his eyes as he wrapped an arm around her waist to both guide and support her. "Since when did you turn into such a lightweight?"

Pressing her hip against him, Gretch played her dizziness up slightly, liking the feeling of Trev's arm around her and drunk enough that she didn't care. "According to you, I've always been this much of a lightweight."

"That's right," Trev smirked and tugged her toward the door. "I knew you'd have to admit it sooner or later." Letting her out first, he took a moment to wave his wand in a series of complicated charms, recasting his wards. "'Ow about the Three Broomsticks? Better food." The Hogshead, though he preferred it, was not the place to go if you were at all peckish, he'd readily admit.

She elbowed him lightly, resisting the urge to tuck herself against him. "Hey, I do believe I prefaced that statement with according to you." She waved her hand in an expansive gesture. "And you're not exactly the best source of information."

Concentrating for a moment on walking and allowing the cool air to wake her up a bit, it took Gretch a moment to respond to his question. "Sounds good to me," she gestured in the general direction of the Three Broomsticks. "Lead on, MacScabior!"

"Lead on, MacScabior..." Trevor echoed, muttering it almost to himself as he shook his head. "You're a bit of a nutter sometimes, you know." Regardless of her nonsense he led the way down the short walk to the more popular of the town's pubs. "I'm an excellent source of information," he added, acting affronted at her earlier comment. "I know plenty."

Shrugging, Gretch pulled away from him and tugged the door to the pub open. "Maybe, but you know you love me." Shoving the door open behind her for Trev to catch, she stepped into the building, peering around the room. The place was more crowded than she'd seen it in a while but to be fair, she didn't often frequent the Three Broomsticks. Up at the bar, a couple slid off their stools and headed away and Gretch darted through the crowd to claim them.

"You do, but not in this case." She continued when Trev finally appeared beside her, having already ordered a pint and a plate of chips. "In this case you were just trying to make yourself look better than me, and that, my dear friend, is a hard task indeed."

"I didn't think it was that difficult," he teased, settling in beside her. His pint was placed in front of him and he lifted the glass, chugging half in one go. "What makes you special, anyway?" He knew she was much better than any other bird he'd met but when taking the piss he didn't feel that held much merit. He downed the rest of his drink and signalled for another.

Gretchen's chips and pint were delivered and she plucked a chip from her plate, waggling it towards Trev's glass before chomping it in half. "Who else would've ordered you a pint, eh?" She pointed out, smugly, following the food with a swig from her pint.

"And that's supposed to make you special, is it?" He reached across her to snatch a chip and downed it in a bite. "I'm sure there's loads what would like to by me a pint." He grinned widely and sat up a little straighter, trying to look as best he could despite his usual scruffy state.

"Oi!" Gretch swatted at his hand half-heartedly, then paused and leaned back, peering at Trev. "I said nothing about buying you a pint." She retorted, eating another few chips, already feeling better. "I just ordered you one, Scabior."

She shook her head and downed the rest of her pint, signalling for another. "Trying to take advantage of my kindness like that. For shame."

"What," he whined, snatching another chip when she leaned back. "You don't want to buy me a pint? All I've done for you? Worth at least two, I'd think."

Gretch let out a little laugh, swiping at his hand and missing completely. "All what you've done for me?" She eyed him, arching an eyebrow. "Cos I've done loads of really nice stuff for you. I'm pretty brilliant, come to think of it."

"Yeah?" he rolled his eyes at her. "I think there's a good bit of gold that's cross through your hands that'd disagree." He'd helped her out when she was smuggling from Egypt and skimming off the Goblins and he'd recently started keeping her involved in the more lucrative snatches that came along but he didn't actually expect any payback for that.

"Oh!" Gretch swung her arm out and slapped him in the arm, excitedly. "That reminds me!" She leaned close, draping her arm over his shoulders. "I got news about a house that's... not needed."

She waggled the fingers of her right hand in front of them, showing off the large, gaudy, but as far as Gretch could tell (and she was good at telling), real ring on her finger. "I already took a little look-see around."

"Quite a trinket," he leaned in and took a closer look, obviously excited over the prospect of similar items. "More to be 'ad I take it?" He finally noticed the fresh beer in front of him and drank eagerly again. "Or did you already clean it?"

Gretch pulled an offended face and gave his shoulders a squeeze before settling back onto her stool. "Would I tell you about it just to rub your face in it?" She asked, ordering another pint and a second plate of chips as she dragged the last few up and into her mouth.

"Maybe, Trev conceded, though he doubted it. "You're special, I'm not. Easy to forget a bloke like me." The thought that he might be making an easy haul in a few hours time cheered him and he downed his pint to upgrade to whiskey.

"That's true," Gretch nodded her agreement, swiping her finger through the salt left at the bottom of her empty chip plate and licking it off. "I am special, I'm glad you finally realise it." A new plate of chips was set in front of her and she favoured the bartender with a wide, grateful smile. "But I'd never forget the little people in my life."

"Wait, you're calling me little people?" Trevor looked her up and down doubtfully, going for the easy short joke. "Now I know you're mad." He downed his whiskey, voice getting louder as their conversation dragged on. "I've got to be two of you."
