Of course, people always thought that about him. Because he looked stupid? Or because he didn't bother using complicated sentence structures and words? He had to laugh at that, really amused by it. At Hogwarts, at first it had bothered him, then he learned to ignore it, because he knew it wasn't true. he could very well follow what the other was saying, or the Professors in class, even without being able to precisely 'translate' certain words. "Yeah of course they are, Quidditch player, ya know? All muscle no brain?" He said, sounding rather much like his father when he was talking to a wizard of lower status, voice full of sarcasm and something close to disgust. "I'm sure all you read are specialist books, nothing less for the brainiacs amongst us."
Marcus should have been aware how touchy people were these days. He worked with journos a lot and he should have known that it was important to use just the right words or people could just flip, like Eric. "Cold war, it could be worse." He said coldly. He couldn't really feel sorry for the people the guy mentioned. Most of them were mudbloods or halfbloods, it was their own fault they landed where they were now. He kept that piece of thought to himself though. "I am doing something. You might not care so much, but Quidditch games are quite a safe place to go to. Quidditch helps people relax a bit, retain a bit of normality. I mean do you seriously think I go and say 'Hey, everyone do...well whatever' and they get up and do it?" He shook his head. "I can animate people to pick up the sport, come together and watch the games but that's about it. They don't really care about my political position, they want me to show them a good game with my team that they can watch and for the time being forget that it's war."
That man really thought it was so easy? He probably dreamed all night about saving the world in his witty ways, coming up with the best solution for any present problem. While he sipped his beer, Marcus looked at Eric and he had to grin again. Watchwizard? Probably not the most honourable position for someone who probably considered himself to be smarter than the leading ministry member put together.
