"And what's so funny now?" Marcus rolled his eyes. The only house that didn't assume it was better than others was obviously Hufflepuff, which was no surprise seeing how obvious it was that they just sucked. Slytherins of course had every right to assume they were better than the rest of the world, simply because they were.
Marcus was rather unimpressed by Eric, nothing unusual. He wasn't easy to impress anymore, not after he became 'famous' himself and had fans of his own. Up until now, Eric had shown him nothing but overly high self-confidence and the fact that he knew about politics, a topic that didn't belong to Marcus main interests.
"You sure are one that likes using long words, aren't you? I bet it gets even worse when you're drunk..." And that was quite an amusing thought. Marcus naturally met tons of drunken people, liking to frequent pubs and have a pint, or six. He could say he knew a lot of ways people acted when they were totally, totally wasted and nowhere near capable of thinking. Till Marcus got to that point, it took him a lot of drinking, so it rarely happened. He did get funny though, when he was tipsy, a little friendlier. Well mostly, sometimes it just made him even easier to piss off and he was likely to throw a punch and when he was like that, he didn't care at all if he broke someone's bones or not. When sober he tried to avoid that.
"And what's my profession gotta do with any of what you're babbling about? You think 'cause we're somewhere close to a war I have a special position being a person of public interest?" Or whatever you wanted to call it. Marcus didn't care if people were interested in him; he played for himself, the sport and his team.
