Harry saw Ron's killing look, but ignored it. Ron was full of looks anyway, and they had other things to worry about. "We're fine, Professor," Harry answered, shooting Hermione a look, but not saying anything. Dumbledore or no, Harry had never exactly been forthcoming with adults, and that wasn't his story to tell anyway. If anybody understood doing hard things for the sake of the greater good, it was Professor Dumbledore, anyway.
They weren't fine, really. But who would be? And anyway, what good would it do to whinge about it? They still had to do what they had to do. Or at least Harry did. If he could just convince them to let him do it with just Dumbledore. That wasn't an argument he was going to pick up again now. . . and maybe not later, either, since he wouldn't win. He'd just have to try to work around it.
"You needed to speak to us, Professor?" Harry prompted.
