Lucius looked in danger of flinching when he saw that he had actually brought her to tears. It woke him up, to some extent - enough to have a care for what a mess he was making for himself in the morning, or whenever his arm decided to let him be. That was suddenly sharper, too, as he slowly recovered his senses. He didn't know what to say. Surely this had demonstrated exactly what sort of company he would be, if he accompanied her now ... And just as surely, it hadn't seemed to dissuade her.
"If you'll promise to get some rest," he said a little weakly, looking somewhat lost. "I'll do my best not to disturb you." It might even be nice, so long as it was silent. If he didn't have to worry about saying or doing something foolish, lying quietly with her might be the closest he could come to solace.
