Who: Rodolphus Lestrange and Thomas Derrick
What: Revenge Killing
Where: Grimmauld, and then the home of Alaric Selwynn
When: Last night
Rating/Warning: Deadly

The orders came with pain, but it was pain that was well-deserved. There had been Death Eaters living at the bloody house, and Potter had escaped? If Selwynn was to blame, then the orders to wipe out every living member of his immediate family were far too kind - and there was definite proof that it was Selwynn, on his body and in his wand. Snape had done the job of killing the traitor, but the rest of them would carry out the work of making an example of him. Traitors died, and they killed everyone they cared for in the process.

Rodolphus claimed the best prize, the doting wife. He was sure that Bella would be quick to claim a prize that was just as good. Spotting one of the younger, newer members of their brotherhood before he left he grabbed the young Death Eater and dragged him with him as he apparated. They had to learn sometime, didn't they? Who better to watch?

Thomas was not a fan of the pain shooting through his arm at the moment. Bloody hell. He didn't remember this being in the brochure. He was going to suck it up and be a man about it, though. After all, there was no one else sitting around whinging about it.

Excitement ran through him, though, as he was grabbed for the mission. He was certainly anxious to learn and who better to teach him? With any luck, completing their missing would mean the end of that stupid burning sensation.

Rodolphus had known Selwynn for years. Since before he'd gone to Azkaban. He knew precisely where his home was, and that his wife was likely to be alone with the elves, their children grown and in homes of their own.

It was too bad he couldn't kill three birds with one stone, but others should be doing their duty at the precise moment, anyway. He let go of Derrick and then began toward the home - the wards had let them apparate inside the gates. Stupid of Selwynn not to remember to change them, when he'd decided to turn traitor.

Thomas kept his mouth shut, watching Rodolphus intently. He'd learned that it was better to keep quiet and observe. Asking too many questions didn't seem to go over very well and the last thing he wanted to do was piss off an elder Death Eater.

He followed close behind, his own wand out and ready, though he wasn't likely to use it unless he had to or Lestrange gave him an order to.

Rodolphus had no qualms about talking, though. All the time spent at the Ministry, he was happy when he could really say what he was thinking. Not that he often held his tongue there, either.

"I'm going to take my time with her," He said darkly. "Marrying a traitor, loving one. It's as bad as being one yourself."

A smile spread over Thomas' face as he nodded his agreement. He didn't like to get incredibly chatty with the elders, but he had no qualms about speaking when he was spoken to.

"As it should be," he agreed. He wondered if she'd known, but then again, that was her folly if she hadn't, too. Either way, she had it coming.

Rodolphus made sure his wand was tucked away before he came to he door. He knocked solidly, and within moments an elf was opening the door, welcoming them in. He said his master was not home. Rodolphus answered that they would see his mistress, and shared a look with Derrick as the elf disappeared to announce them. His master would never be home again.

Thomas had to fight a smirk as the house elf stated that his master was not home. It wouldn't do to give anything away, to ruin the surprise of what they were about to do, but he was amused and that look exchanged with his elder might have been his undoing were he not better at schooling his expressions. As it was, though, he managed to keep his expression neutral until the servant turned away.
