Characters: Maeve Sheridan and Open Setting: After classes on Wednesday, in the dungeons Summary: Maeve takes advantage of the empty potions room to work on her own potion recipes. Rating: TBD
Maeve sat beside a steaming cauldron, appreciating the quiet that the potion's dungeons always offered. The Slytherin common room, even if you ignore the crowded, noisy atmosphere, would never be a relaxing place. Her dorm wasn't much better, with one room mate or another always around. But the dungeons were usually deserted after classes let out for the day and if another avid potion student did happen to wander in there were enough rooms that everybody could avoid each other nicely. Now if she could just find a way to keep the occasional random couple looking for their own 'solitude' from barging in it would all be perfect.
A pile of notes was spread out in front of the girl, filling up all the counter space that was taken over by potions ingredients or supplies. She glanced up at the cauldron and took note of it's striking orange hue. Intrigued, she jotted down the note to the recipe as she spoke to herself. "Rolling the leaves...huh." She set her journal and quill aside as she picked up a spoon to stir the cauldron, blowing at a limp strand of hair as the steam caused it to fall into her eyes.
She'd decided the problem with fatiguing fusions was they were too easily countered. They were unstable at the best of times and went bad with little more than a look. So far her variation seemed to be turning out heartier than the traditional brewing method. She noted that down in her journal as well with a touch of pride and started chopping the morel into fine cubes. The dungeon's door creaked but Maeve reacted instead to her potion, which had turned a bright blue and was threatening to bubble over the cauldron. "Shit," she cursed, leaping up to stir it back down to a calm.
