Re: Questions - Everybody
Alex had always enjoyed giving presentations; she liked sharing information in a way that put people at ease and helped them understand otherwise intricate ideas. There were so many questions about the supernatural world, on so many levels and in such multitudes, she knew that it could be hard to digest. But even though she was on standby, Alex didn’t mind ceding the floor to Seth and Jax for the Q&A. In a way, it helped that they’d grown up with this, although that exposure didn’t breed some of the necessary empathy for the shock of learning the truth.
When Cassie mentioned her by name, though, Alex leaned forward a little and looked at Carmina with a half smile. “I know a lot of people.” There was a note of self-deprecation in her voice; she wasn’t sure that she was an expert, yet, but she’d take the compliment because she was certainly working on getting there. “I’ve learned a lot. And Seth knows everything; the Knights are Willow Creek royalty. If you stick with us, you’re as safe as you can be. And if anyone even tries to hurt you, we’ll show them that you don’t mess with Thornes.”
Shrugging, she continued. “The important thing to remember is that everyone in the supernatural community are just people. There are good ones and bad ones; if you get into trouble with the bad ones, there’s a good person who will help. And there’s a reason they keep themselves hidden; humans can be dangerous to them, too. I mean, totally hypothetically, I can inflict damage as a human that a vampire necessarily can’t. And in a broad sense, that’s a real possibility in their world, especially if you approach the idea of them with fear. Caution is healthy, hysteria is not. That’s a really excellent question, though, Carmina.”
