Re: 6:03 Seth Knight
When Seth arrived, Alex was in the kitchen, picking at some of the hors d’oeuvres and occasionally stirring something simmering in one of the myriad pots on the stove. Looking up when her husband entered, she was adamant when she said, “This hummus is amazing. I highly recommend it.”
Her smile was a bit distracted by the incredible spread of food, but it was genuine. Things hadn’t entirely returned to normal between them, but she appreciated that Seth came. It wasn’t even that she thought that his presence would make the news go down any easier for her siblings; honestly, the jury was out. But Alex knew that this wasn’t Seth’s idea of a fun Friday night. She would have accepted it without a word if he’d had to stay late at work. Even if he was a catalyst in their current predicament and Cassie had made a big concession in inviting him and... actually, no, if he hadn't come after she asked, they would have had some words.
Also, not that she’d think to tell him this, but the idea of Seth not being there at a Thorne get together was… strange. It wasn’t Sunday dinner with the Knights, but Seth was something of a Thorne fixture by that point.
Reaching out, she caught one of his belt loops with her finger and pulled him in for a quick hello kiss, in case there were any prying eyes. Brushing his arm with her other hand, she said, “Try not to sit next to Nico. I’m not sure your clothes will survive the night. I'm kind of surprised that you got past Cassie."
