Reading Material WHO Cole Sinclair OT Anyone WHAT Looking for light reading WHERE Sound & Furry WHEN Thursday, July 21, 2016 around 1:30 PM WARNINGS TBD
Before getting to know Willow, Cole's circle of friends—or even acquaintances—in Willow Creek had been very select. They consisted mainly of the town's elite, those who were significantly wealthy or powerful or old enough to warrant his attention. Sure, he'd eavesdropped on the daily dramas of the town's residents on more than one occasion, but it was much farther removed from him. Now, he knew otherwise useless facts that would have meant nothing to him if not for the little witch. Such as one of her roommates being the current proprietor of one of the used bookstores in town. And how that roommate was the brother of her friend who was in the hospital.
Neither of those things held any bearing on his trip to Sound and Furry this afternoon, but they were there in the back of his mind nonetheless.
It wasn't his first time in the shop, but despite the name, he always seemed to forget about the real furry occupants. There was something about cats. He didn't love them. He didn't hate them. Some were better than others. As an overall species, however, they tended to be extraordinarily perceptive. Cole had long ago surmised that there was something about the energy he exuded that was naturally appealing to certain breeds. There was also a part of him that liked to think that it was Bast's doing, her way of ensuring that he would never forget her no matter how many millennia had passed.
As if on cue, a red Abyssinian leapt down from its perch as he entered the store and, once Cole paused, began to weave its lithe form around his ankles, rubbing up against him with a steady, rumbling purr.
