Briana began to stir at the press of Jamie's lips to her forehead. Such was the way of a hunter - awake at the slightest provocation. Still, she was able to tell it was only Jamie and stayed comfortably in her spot. When she heard the door close behind him, she decided it was time to get her own butt out of bed.
Briana did her morning exercise routine, involving five types of situps and pushups. The jog she would skip, since she hadn't brought her jogging clothes with her. When she was done, she hopped in the shower, got dressed, and found something to eat for breakfast in Jamie's fridge.
Since he still wasn't back, Briana sat down at his desk to see if there was anything she could help him with. She glanced at the laptop, open and with Grace's picture. There was no question in her mind that Grace would always hold a piece of Jamie's heart in her grasp. Not that it bothered Briana. Why would that bother her? Jamie and her were just friends. Pfft. It didn't bother her.
All the same, she looked away from the screen and went through the papers he had on his desk. When Jamie returned, she was still there, reading through an entry for a recent hunt. His 'I need to tell you something' didn't raise the warning flags it should have, so when he dropped the news of Bishop and Grace, her head snapped up in surprise.
Briana watched him, careful to mask her emotions, but she couldn't stop the bit of snap to her words. "You've known this since April and you're telling me now?"
