WHO Jamie Whitaker OT Brianna Underwood WHAT A little chat about certain vampires. WHERE Royal Pacific Harbor (Jamie's trailer) WHEN Thursday, July 28th, 2016 (Late night) WARNINGS TBD
In the darkness he could hear the slow, steady breathing of Bri as she slept beside him. It was no surprise that Jamie was wide awake after experiencing a nightmare (a common occurrence given his occupation). It wasn't that he was afraid to fall back asleep, but the players and significance of the dream were what kept him awake. After what felt like forward staring up at the pock-marked ceiling, the hunter heaved a sigh and shifted enough to press a kiss to Bri's forehead before quietly getting out of bed to pull on sweats, sweatshirt, and sneakers.
Leaving a note for Bri that he went running, Jamie spent an hour going over the conversation he had with Bishop back in April and parts of what they'd discussed last night. In the end, Jamie concluded that the recent revelations didn't matter so much as the fact that Grace had a bounty on her head and Jamie was coming to the realization that he was going to help her. If only to lure Catalina out in the open and finally take her head. He ignored the whisper that there was a less strategic yet more meaningful reason he was helping his ex-wife but he told that little whisper to shut the fuck up. The fact he lied to Grace about what he truly was would always hang over there. There was no going back.
By the time he returned to his trailer he was still slightly winded. He was surprised to see Bri awake but not so much to see her sitting at his desk where he kept his journals and files on various supernatural boogeymen. He usually kept what he was working on accessible when she was around because her knowledge was invaluable and he appreciated the difference in perspective she gave. Grace's picture was on the screen of his laptop, prompting him to speak.
As he pulled the soaked sweatshirt over his head and tossed it on the recliner, he said, "I need to tell you something." Pulling his hair free of the messy ponytail he'd had it in, he continued.
"Bishop is in town. He approached me back in April to tell me my ex-wife has a bounty on her head."
