When Hadley received her sister's text, she was at work, but her shift was almost over. Hadley frowned at the words she read. It wasn't like Rebecca to ask Hadley to come home like that, and the way the text was worded made them sound urgent. As soon as she read them, Hadley felt nervous.
The younger witch shot a quick text to her sister. >> [4:45PM] Done at five. >> [4:46PM] Be there soon.
She asked one of the other baristas to cover for her, and ten minutes later, Hadley was on her bike, headed back home to The View. For the past few days, Hadley had been living at Jake's apartment to keep Evan company, but she still frequented the Delaney apartment. With her sister so close, Hadley felt lucky that she could see Rebecca and Killian every day. On the way to her sister, Hadley wracked her brain, trying to figure out what this was about. Lately, Rebecca had seemed a little under the weather, but otherwise, she'd been fine.

Hadley opened the door to the Delaney apartment. “Becca?” she called. “I'm here. Where are you?” She looked around the livingroom.
