"Oh no, it's fine," he said, shaking his head and laughing a bit, trying to appear normal for the most part but he knew that he didn't, even when he tried really hard to. He really just wanted to go and run, to forget everything but the feeling of the wind, the crunch of the forest underneath his boots, the slight pull of his muscles and tendons as they got into their stride.
He took a deep breath, held it and then blew it out again, forcing himself to smile. He could tell that she wasn't all that comfortable with him but she wasn't being threatening so he would try all he could to make the wolf shut up for just one moment. It wasn't working so far.
He nodded and his smile got a bit wider at the thought of actually finding something to talk about. "Yeah, I went to the library. It took a while but the librarian finally bought me kicking and screaming into the computer age. It's taking a while though." He turned away a little, seemingly slightly embarrassed. He didn't want to show any kind of weakness. "There's some really good ones around here though. I'm trying a new one today, one with lots of hills. Today is definitely a hill day." Again, understatement of the year!
