There was no extra time to linger as there was a handsome man waiting for her just outside the door, she knew. Once squeaky clean and fresh, Willow dried herself with a large towel before wrapping it around herself to reach for the clothing provided being where he said they would be. A man to his word. She smiled softly thinking of him, all the more eager to get dress and join him.
As she pulled the sweatpants up then let go to reach for the drawstrings, they dropped straight back down into a puddle around her ankles. Clearly the pants were too big for her own waist. Bending down to pick rim of the pants back up again, she held onto one side to hold it in place then pulled the drawstrings as far as it would go then tied the strings together. Still, she had to roll the hem down a few times then rolled the pant legs up a couple of times as well.
The shirt she donned on next engulfed her frame warmly like a blanket. Lifting the v-neck part shirt to her nose, she inhaled his scent and fabric softener from the shirt in slowly. Willow told herself to snap out of it and not to keep him waiting any longer. She placed the towels into the laundry bag then emerged from the bathroom. Her bare feet didn't make a sound as she walked towards him. Her arms kept close to her sides to keep the pants in place and because she was suddenly self-conscious being out of her element and comfort zone.
One look at Cole and all those nervous emotions washed away. As he sat there comfortably while reading an actual newspaper, a soft smile appeared across her lips once more. The essence of an intelligent man right in front of her. Her cheeks warmed as the butterflies returned.
her small voice broke the silence in the room as she asked, "Anything interesting?" referring to the news. "I love that you still read newspapers."
The tea he had made for her was appreciated though after the coffee, she wasn't thirsty yet so she decided to let the tea seep a little bit longer and to cool down some more. Joining him on the sofa with her legs tucked in underneath her on the seat cushion, her shoulder touching against his arm. She smiled up at him with a fresh face, "Thank you for the tea."
