"True," Cole granted, his tone full of mirth. "And you got my attention by waving me in like I was an incoming plane." Okay, he could admit that was an exaggeration. His grin widened when she looked up at him. "It did work. I was flattered that you remembered me." Another exaggeration. He'd have been more surprised if she hadn't. He'd thought the visions he'd left her with at the end of their previous encounter had made quite the impression. At least, they should have.
She'd been correct to think he might know her name, but Cole imagined the way she'd teased him had been due to her own sense of amusement, and not because she suspected what he was or what he was capable of doing. She gave a fair amount of thought to what his prize would be for guessing her name, and Cole weighed the possibilities. It might seem like getting her name right on his first attempt would be the most rewarding, but he knew that any wish he might have of her, he could make happen through his own means. The second option of having her cook dinner for him was an intriguing thought, but he didn't rely on food for sustenance. If it took him three tries to get her name right, at least it would ensure another meeting with the pretty blonde.
However, Cole had to admit that he was most intrigued by what prize she would request if he didn't guess her name.
"Alright. Fair is fair, indeed." They walked beneath the large arch that marked the east entrance of the park. He guided her to the left and they continued on the sidewalk toward his building. Looking down at her again, Cole feigned a thoughtful expression. "Jennifer? And what prize do you want if I fail my mission?"
