Devon didn't know Jamie, so she couldn't put as much faith in the man as Erik seemed to. She didn't say as much, because she didn't have to. Devon would fully expect Erik to feel the same uncertainty if it had been Devon taking them both to a hunter she knew. She said nothing more until her tent was dismantled and ready to be put in the back of the truck. She carried both it and her pack to toss them over the side into the truck bed.
Then she turned to Erik. "I guess we'll have to lay low for awhile, then. Is it too much to suggest we just take off to Hawaii and live on a beach for a couple of months instead?"
