She could tell that he was getting closer to accepting this kind of information, but it just wasn't there yet. Emily wasn't one to push the subject, either. She spoke her mind on the topic, and would leave it at that, until she thought he might be ready to hear it again, or her advice was unintentionally asked for a second time. He was ready to move on though, and asked her how her week had been. Emily thought on that, taking another sip of her coffee. Sometimes, she was so in touch with other people she was quite out of touch with herself. There had been a lot of things to happen the last week, most unsettling of course the event surrounding Bianca's unfortunate departure.
Sad. She finally said, pushing some hair behind her ears, before both hands clasped her coffee as it sat in her lap. She was still comfortably leaned back against her chair, letting her head rest there now, eyes pointed up to the ceiling, staring at the thoughts and visions inside her own head. I was so preoccupied with this vision I've been having that I ignored the ones telling me about the Dome and Bianca. She was still feeling horribly guilty about all that. She should have seen it coming, and been able to do or say something to keep it from happening. Especially in the case of a fire and everyone finding out that way, anyway. It had scared quite a few people, put everyone on their toes. She wished they could have been able to avoid that.
She thought back to the vision she had been having that took up so much of her time. A kid, I think. She said, knowing he would understand what she was talking about. I see this. He or she is hazy, I can't see the face, but they need my help. It's distressing. It was painful, having these visions and being unable to figure them out. This vision was still in the future - it was someone coming, but not just quite yet, so the vision wasn't as clear as it good be, if it were happening immediately. But it was still making her quite distraught. It plagued her dreams every night.
Her coffee was almost finished, and she took the last sip and leaned forward. Her table was quite close, and she used her free hand to feel for it before she set her coffee cup there, leaving it for later to clean up. She leaned back again, crossing one leg over the other and folding her hands in her lap. I'm so glad no one was hurt in the Dome incident, I could never forgive myself for not stopping it from happening if that were the case. The students, more or less, were fine after the incident. Had someone been seriously injured or, God forbid, killed in the incident, she would have retired on the spot out of shame.
Enough about me. I have a feeling you have a lot more to tell me about. She smiled again. She enjoyed listening to Nikolai talk about what was going on in his life. He led a much more interesting one than she did. And after that, you should help me with my Halloween costume. I've already seen it, we just have to go find it!
