Things with Connor were seeming to be going quite well. Lenore was more than happy to be hanging out with him again. She was excited. The freckly girl with the ultra blonde curly hair was bouncing her way down the hallway, dressed in simply jeans, flip flops, a tank top and a zip-up hoodie, she turned the corner and ---
She was gone. She had hardly seen it in all her excitement and couldn't even think of stopping before she went straight through. This hadn't happened many times before, and she was not even thinking of a real destination - she had been thinking of multiple, actually. Stay in Connor's room? Go to the Rec Center? TV-rooms, or get coffee and sit at the cafeteria... Oh, wasn't Jamila hosting that movie night? Man, if only they could go to NYC... And, there it was. The shimmering little inter-dimensional hole opened up and took her to the last place she thought of. NYC. Except, it was a large place, and she was deposited in the middle of a busy sidewalk.
No one took any notice - she simply stumbled her way backwards and found herself falling down a flight of stairs. Yes, that's right. She couldn't stop her backwards momentum and as she was turning around and taking another step, she found there was nothing to put her foot on and went tumbling down into the subway. It was a long fall, and she felt quite, quite terrible after that. She was sure something was broken, somewhere. She lay groaning at the bottom of the stairs for a few moments, bleeding and in an immense amount of pain.
But, not suddenly, but quickly she started to feel better. The pains were dulling here and there. She realized there were people all around her - a man bent down and touched her arm, and she freaked out. She stood up as quickly as she could and put her hands up. "Don't touch me." She took another step back and so did he, the few other people eying her cautiously. "Sweetheart you need to go to the hospital." They said, but she shook her head. "I'm fine." She lied, before turning and making a run for it.
She found herself quite far away, enough that they wouldn't see her, and tucked herself into a corner. Now that the panic and pain was gone, she realized the situation and fully started crying. She was lost, no I.D, and she was sure she was going to be in so much trouble for this. She picked up her phone and hesitated. She should call Ms. Cretti, but honestly that woman frightened her a little, so instead she dialed the only other Willowbrook Teacher's number she had in her phone - Ferran O'Daley.
